SCRIP INFORMATION What is SCRIP? SCRIP is gift certificates bought from local vendors at a discount and sold at face value. What businesses participate in SCRIP? You can purchase SCRIP for local vendors throughout Michiana. Included in the program are grocery stores, fast food and family restaurants, department stores, specialty stores and gas stations. Many are kept in stock and are available for immediate purchase. Refer to the SCRIP order form for the current list. How do I order SCRIP? SCRIP can be purchased 7 days a week (excluding holidays). Orders are taken during the week at the Rectory office, on Saturday after the 5:30 PM mass, Sunday after the 8:45 AM mass, before and after the 10:30 AM mass, and before the 12:15 PM mass. You can call the Rectory office at 272-3113 or fax to 273-6702 to place your order ahead of time to be picked up when it’s convenient for you. How can I pay for SCRIP? SCRIP can be paid for by check made payable to Christ The King or cash. It is recommended that you pay by check. How Can SCRIP reduce tuition expenses? SCRIP users with children enrolled at Christ the King School may sign up for the Tuition Reduction Incentive Plan (TRIP). Please inquire if this applies to you. How is SCRIP profit used? Scrip profit is extra income that will be used to help meet urgent parish needs and may be used or assigned to lower Christ the King School tuition costs. HELPFUL HINTS: 1. Keep frequently used SCRIP on hand so that you will have it when you need it. 2. Many stores will allow you to use SCRIP for payment on their credit cards. 3. Encourage friends, family and neighbors to buy SCRIP and use your TRIP number (if assigned) to help lower your tuition expense. 4. Encourage your employer to use SCRIP for business purchases or give SCRIP as gift certificates instead of Thanksgiving turkeys or Christmas gifts. 5. SCRIP makes great Christmas, birthday, graduation, wedding, etc. presents for relatives, teachers, friends, babysitters, etc. 6. Everyone needs gas and groceries. Buy SCRIP to pay for these purchases. 7. Planning a special night out? Use SCRIP to pay for it.
