The RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS is the way the Catholic Church prepares adults for the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. It is a time of preparation whereby the individual together with the community of believers comes to know God more personally. Through exploring the faith and sacramental life of the Catholic Church, you are invited to respond to God calling you into the mystery of God's love. Individuals who are seeking to be baptized are welcome to build a new relationship with God and God's people. The RCIA is a journey of faith, moving through one's everyday life becoming more and more aware of God's presence. Adults who have been baptized in another Christian tradition are invited to grow in faith within the Catholic community. The RCIA includes the Rite of Reception into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church. This process is designed for the adult seeker to learn more about the rich tradition of the Catholic Church while preparing prayerfully to receive the sacrament of Confirmation and take an active place at the Eucharistic table. As a baptized Christian, you are invited to continue to grow in your faith, responding to God's call to a life of deeper holiness. This call to ongoing conversion is the work of our life that is grounded in the Scriptures, celebrated in public worship at the Sunday Eucharist, formed in a life of service to others and carried out in the midst of the Catholic community. Anyone interested in having a conversation about the Catholic Church is welcomed to contact the parish office, 272-3113.
